Core

Command palette

Search and run admin commands with the keyboard.

The admin has a command palette. Press Ctrl K on macOS, or Ctrl K on other systems. You can also click the search button at the top of the sidebar.

Type to filter. Press ↵ to run the selected command.

Groups

The palette shows these groups, in this order. An empty group does not show.

  1. Create. One "New <label>" command for each content type. The command opens newPath of the type. Without newPath, it opens <basePath>/new. Without basePath, it opens /admin/content/<name>/new. The command shows only if the user has the write capability of the type.
  2. Go to. Every admin nav item and nav child. A child shows its parent label as a suffix.
  3. Theme. System, Light, and Dark.

Each destination shows once. The Create group is built first, so a nav link to a create path does not show again in Go to.

Extend the palette

You do not write palette code. Use the normal extension points:

  • A new content type adds a Create command.
  • A new nav item adds a Go to command.
  • A new settings page adds a Go to command with the suffix "Settings".

Rules for a developer

  • Navigate with navigateTo in onSelect. Do not set to.
  • Keep UDashboardSearch and UDashboardSearchButton inside UDashboardGroup.
  • Mount only one UDashboardSearch in the app. The palette opens through the global dashboard:search:toggle hook.

The group labels, the placeholder, and the command labels are translated.
